OUR MISSION

Comprising patient/caregiver leaders, community organizations, research and medical experts, and support partners, the Sickle Cell Consortium is committed to assisting the community. By conducting community assessments, the Consortium has identified the specific needs of sickle cell patients and caregivers, propelling ongoing efforts to offer essential support.

IDENTIFIED AREAS OF NEED

The Consortium has acknowledged five major categories of need: primary education support, mental health access and support, financial and social service support, disaster relief, and disease education and management. The Consortium has crafted tailored projects and programs to address these critical areas. However, the Emergency Response Team focuses on three specific areas of need: community support services, disaster relief, and emergency assistance.

All Hands In

01

Community Support Srvices

Acknowledging the need for social services, the Consortium assists in acquiring essential supplies like cleaning products, food, and medical items. An emergency financial aid program and a resource database have been established to provide support to Warrior families during their times of hardship.

02

Disaster Relief

Disaster Relief involves providing aid to individuals and families impacted by natural disasters or emergencies. This aid includes immediate relief like shelter, food, water, medical assistance, and support. The Sickle Cell Consortium aims to offer resources and assistance through sickle cell community-based organizations so they can assist families impacted by sickle cell disease in areas that are affected by unforeseen catastrophic events.
