10 Years of SC3

The Sickle Cell Consortium (SC3) proudly celebrates its 10-Year Anniversary across 2025 and 2026, recognizing two pivotal milestones in our history that collectively shaped our organization's identity and mission.

A Dual-Year Celebration

2015: Official Incorporation

SC3 was formally established as a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2015. This marked our transition from an IDEA into a feerally recognized designation - a critical foundation upon which all our programs and partnerships have been build.

2016: Launch of Our Mission in Action

In 2016, SC3 hosted its inaugural Annual Leadership Summit, a powerful event that signified our official launch into community engagement, advocacy, and collaborative action. This gathering of patient leaders, caregivers, and stakeholders from across the nation was the beginning of what has become a definig tradition. The year 2026 will mark 10 years since SC3 began actively implementing our mission and programs.

Honoring Our Full Journey

While the Consortium was conveived in 2014, and incorporated in 2015, it was in 2016 that our vision took flight - when we began doing the work that defines who we are today. Celebrating across 2025 and 2026 allows us to honr the full scope of our 10-year journey:

2025: A celebration of our legal and organizational foundation - recogonizing the structures, relationships, and strategies that enabled us to grow.

2026: A celebration of our impact and legacy of leadership - marking 10 years of action, community empowerment, and transformative change.

This dual-year anniversary reflects the depth and intention behind SC3's formation and evolution. From a powerful idea in 2014 to a triving national consortium of sickle cell stakeholders, our journey has always been rooted in community, collaboration, and leadership. By honoring both our incorporation and our first year of impact, we ensure that every contributor and every milestone receives the recognition it deserves.
